I was invited to a beautiful family home in Birmingham by the lovely Francesca and her family for a very special day — Grandma’s birthday.
Although I’m based in Solihull, they loved my relaxed, natural style of photography and invited me to travel to them to capture these memories.
The weather wasn’t on our side. Dark clouds were rolling in, and the rain had just started. We quickly began in the garden, where the children ran around, everyone laughed together, and the dramatic sky gave us the most beautiful rich colours.
As the rain became heavier, we moved indoors. While the adults enjoyed breakfast together, I photographed the children playing in their favourite rooms, completely relaxed in the place they know best.
When the rain stopped, we headed back outside for more family photographs. By then everyone had forgotten about the camera, and that’s when the most genuine moments happened.
One of my favourite memories was asking Grandpa where he would like to have his portrait taken. He smiled and said, “Our bedroom.” So that’s exactly where we went. Together with Grandma and their grandchildren, we created some of my favourite images from the whole day.
Family photo sessions at home are never just about beautiful photographs. They capture the places, the people and the little moments that become priceless memories for generations.
Amazing experience and couldn’t recommend more if I tried. The whole experience was Incredible and the photos we got at the end are memories for a life time
