Laura got in touch because she wanted a photoshoot to celebrate her little boy’s first birthday. At first, she thought we’d do it in her own garden, but she wasn’t sure it would be the best place for such a young toddler.
Then she mentioned her parents’ garden, and I immediately said, “Why don’t we invite Grandma and Grandad to join the session as well?” She loved the idea.
We met at their house at 10am, which is usually my favourite time for photographing little ones. They’re normally happy, full of energy and ready to explore.
Even though it was just a 30-minute mini session, we captured so many lovely moments. We photographed the whole family, Grandma and Grandad, their dog, and of course the birthday boy, who was absolutely amazing throughout the session.
It turned into much more than a first birthday photoshoot. It became a family memory with three generations together, all in the comfort of a place that already meant so much to them. That’s exactly why I love at-home family photography. It feels real, relaxed and completely personal.
Irina was really friendly and professional. We had photos for my son’s first birthday and as a family and they turned out so well. They look so natural in our back garden, much better than behind a white screen. Love them.
